Wildlife Tourism In Philippines

Foreigners have a lot of things to do in the Philippines. Aside from the fact that there are lots of sex tourism in the Philippines, there are also wildlife tourism in the place. Philippines is said to be having large number of tourist spots and other fantastic places. Some tourists consider this country as paradise because of the beautiful spots that the Philippines has to offer and because of the hospitable people.

Other races usually go here for vacation purposes. This the place for them to be relaxed and enjoy the time of freedom that  they have. Some go to beaches like in Boracay and Palawan while other wanted to see the beautiful mountains like the perfect cone-shaped mountain in Albay known as Mt. Mayon.  Aside from these beautiful places, the Philippines has also wildlife spots that foreigners always wanted to see and probably one of the reasons why they always wish to get back in the country.

Palawan is one of the top destinations for wildlife tourism in the Philippines.  It is called as “Last Frontier” and is said to be one of the most protected areas in the country.

Island of Calauit is in the Northwestern part of Palawan. You can find lots of African wildlife here. It’s like you are in two places at the same time.  The place is so clean and refreshing. This island is also a haven for more than seventy species of birds, of which ten of them are rare, that rest and flock two hours before sunset, after their wholeday flight.

Tubbataha Reef National Marine Park is the home of the most beautiful coral reefs in the world. Tubbataha is the Philippines’ first national marine park and is also a  World Heritage Site.  It is  a place of global importance being preserved for future generations of humankind. It has crystal clear water as if these reefs are reachable by bare hands.

The Crocodile Farm is located at Puerto Princesa, Palawan.  It has a crocodile hatchery and it claims to be a rescue center for endemic animals such as the Palawan bearcat, Palawan hornbill,  Palawan mynah, etc. The largest crocodile in the world was found inthe Philippines and was recognized by Guinness.

Cebu has also a wildlife tourist spot in the Island of Olango. If you are a bird fanatic, then this is the right place for you.   Olango Island supports the largest concentration of migratory birds found so far in the country. Migration starts from the breeding places of birds in Siberia, Northern China and Japan.

Philippine Eagle Research and Nature Center is a place where you can find the Philippines’ national bird. It is considered as an endangered species nowadays. This center is located in Davao. A nature park planted with different fruit-bearing trees. Different species of trees can also be found around the area.

Another destination is in Bohol where you can find the smallest primate called as tarsier. There ate also flying lemur in the place. or kagwang as Boholano call them.They have skins that look like wings. They don’t fly, they glide. The flying lemur is additionally,  the only member of the family Cynocephalidae.





Simply Butterfly Conservation Center is located in Bohol. This place is perfect for butterfly lovers.  The main goal of this center is to protect the butterflies through plant research, breedig and releasing. If you wish to see a number of butterflies in the Philippines, go and visit this place.

Although Boracay is known for its white sand and beaches, there is also other part in this place that offers wildlife tourism. There you can see thousands of bats in the place. They are also known as flying foxes. The northern hills of the 1,032-hectare island in Barangay Yapak are home to the bats.


These are just few of the wildlife destinations in the Philippines.  Once you tried visiting the place, I am pretty sure that you will see more.
